My story

From classroom to personalised success
After 14 rewarding years teaching French in the classroom, I decided I wanted to make an even more profound difference in students' lives. Study skills don't necessarily come easily to all students, and schools rarely have the time to teach them explicitly.
I began working with Higher Education students with autism and ADHD, supporting them as a Specialist Study Skills Tutor and Specialist Mentor. The transition to a study skills tutor allowed me to focus deeply on individuals, working 1:1 to help them break down any barriers to studying. It's incredibly fulfilling to see the tangible impact of dedicated, personal support. I loved it so much, I decided to branch out and offer study skills tuition to those still at school. I believe that developing these skills while at secondary equips students to be experts learners, and school and onwards into the school of life!

Tailored strategies for lasting success
Libby Wallace Study Skills tuition is based on cultivating excellent working relationships with my students. I meticulously work to understand each student's strengths and specific struggles. From there, we collaboratively try out and refine tailor-made strategies to develop or sharpen their existing study skills, ensuring they not only achieve their immediate goals but also build confidence for future academic challenges. My tuition is not subject-specific (apart from my GCSE French tuition!); it equips students to study well across all subjects, focussing in on what they need most.

Empowering every student to excel
I love working with students of all ages and backgrounds, whether they are neurotypical or neurodiverse. For example, I enjoy working with students who have dyslexia, exploring strategies to improve spelling and help with language processing. I am committed to offering personalised study skill strategies that are adapted to suit each student's specific learning style, strengths, and indiv\idual needs. It's an organic process that we enter into together!
