My approach

I love nothing more than spending time with students, learning about their study strengths and struggles, helping them implement strategies to overcome barriers so they can achieve their full potential. Studying is an organic process; it's not one-size-fits-all. Each learner is unique and while there are study techniques that have proven success, I always meet every student where there at NOW.

During our first study skills session, I will ask you to rate your your different school subjects in terms of difficulty level and confidence. According to you. We will talk about different study areas such as reading, writing, revision and organisation, to see how you are doing. We will then try out some study skills techniques. I will plan our next session accordingly. I NEVER plan a block of sessions because each session needs to inform the next. I need to respond to what's going on for you as a learner at the time. While sessions are planned, I am also flexible; if you need to show me a piece of homework and ask advice, go ahead,

Revision tip tantalisers...

Revision is like an egg-timer!

If you're feeling overwhelmed by how much there is to revise, don't panic. Revision is like an old-fashioned hour-glass egg timer. Join me for a workshop to find out more!

Revision is for life, not just exams

The skills you learn in study skills sessions and revision technique workshops will stand you in good stead beyond your education.

The Key is in the Re...

The word is re-vision. Note the prefix. It's the practise of repeating something, doing it over again, to make sure you know it and get it right. Join me for a revision techniques workshop to discover how!

Organic AND processed

Although revision is a process, it's a organic one. No two sessions are necessarily the same.

Adapt as you go; continue to grow.

Matter over mind

You've likely heard the maxim 'Mind over matter'. If you struggle with succumbing to procrastination, I like to encourage 'Matter over mind'.
